About Mediation:

“Dialogue is the most effective way of resolving conflict.” - Dalai Lama

Whether in business or personal lives, to “partner” is to bring two entities together for the purpose of forging a unique and productive bond. To separate is to dissolve the partnership and disentangle the bond. This process is deeply emotional and, to be successful, requires daunting and often complex legal, logistical, and financial components.

Mediation is a voluntary, private, efficient, and affordable alternative to litigation. Through the mediation process, the parties work with a trained mediator to engage in productive dialogue that, in most cases, leads to a mutually satisfactory agreement.

The first step in the process is to engage a qualified mediator.

Couples separating require an agreement that:

- divides assets and debts,
- includes spousal maintenance decisions,
- addresses co-parenting plans, and
- resolves child support obligations

In plain language, a mediator explains the laws applicable to your situation. The mediator will then work with you and your partner to come to an agreement that works for both of you.

When you listen: you understand, and others feel understood.
When you are heard:  you feel understood and others understand.
When you engage in conversation: conflicts can achieve resolution.

About Me

I am a skilled attorney and trained mediator guided by the proven principal that any disagreement is best resolved with understanding, empathy, and pragmatism. As a Senior Vice President in the music industry specializing in copyright law, I spent thousands of hours resolving disputes, negotiating agreements, diffusing workplace conflict, and disentangling complex business relationships.

I now apply the skills and wisdom accumulated during my time in the corporate world toward the goal of having positive and lasting impact on those going through what may be the most difficult time of their lives.

I received my basic and advanced dispute resolution training (approved under Part 146 of the NYS Unified Court System’s Office of ADR Programs) at the Center for Mediation and Training in New York City. I also trained at the Center of Understanding in Conflict in New York and in a mentorship program through FamilyKind. I received a bachelor’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College, where I studied English Literature and Music, and my law degree from Benjamin N Cardozo School of Law. I am admitted to practice law in New York.

I provide customized client-centered services and offer morning, evening, and weekend hours to accommodate busy schedules.
